Svitlana Altherr

Co-founder and Chairwoman of the Board.

Svitlana Altherr, a native of Ukraine, has lived in Switzerland since 1999 and is deeply familiar with both cultures. As a compliance and regulatory expert in the financial sector, she combines her professional expertise with a strong commitment to supporting the people of Ukraine. In 2022, she cofounded the Lenzburg Initiative Group, which quickly organized aid projects and fundraising campaigns for those affected by the war in Ukraine. As a volunteer board member of “Volunteers for Humanity,” she played a key role in launching and managing initiatives such as “Education Despite War,” “Drive for Life,” and “Rebuilding Aid for Ukraine.”

Since October 2024, Svitlana has been focusing exclusively on her role as the co-founder and board member of Ukraine Recovery Aid, a charitable association dedicated to long-term support and rebuilding efforts for those affected by the war in Ukraine. She believes that humanitarian aid should primarily serve as help for self-help, with projects that emphasize sustainable, results-oriented solutions and provide real opportunities for those in need.

Fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, German, and English, Svitlana bridges cultures and fosters dialogue between Ukraine and Switzerland. Her work is always centered on the people who have suffered from the war, with the clear goal of making a positive, lasting impact in Ukraine.
