Why is the mission of Ukraine Recovery Aid personally important to you?

When we open the newspaper these days, we’re often met with a sense of helplessness. It seems as if the world is being consumed by conflict. Through my involvement with Ukraine Recovery Aid, I have the opportunity to contribute to supporting people affected by war in Ukraine. It is a special honor for me to take part in these projects and show solidarity. The true meaning of life lies in contributing to the happiness and well-being of others.

Who inspires you most in life—and why?

I find inspiration everywhere in society. It can be small acts of kindness and helpfulness in everyday life. But I am also inspired by today’s youth. They are passionate and determined to make the world a more peaceful and inclusive place. As a teacher, I benefit every day from their optimism and drive.

What are you especially looking forward to in your role with Ukraine Recovery Aid this year?

This year, I look forward to contributing to new projects. As a historian, I would like to encourage deeper engagement with the history of Ukraine, as well as with shifting global political dynamics. Panel discussions or a reading circle are project ideas that particularly interest me.

How do you most enjoy spending your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy reading, going for walks in nature, and having meaningful conversations with friends and family. I also find balance in boxing. I train with passion and occasionally lead training sessions myself.
